Our passion is to see every piano perform to its best

The Caradine philosophy lies in the sheer beauty of music, and the excellence of the piano as an instrument. That excellence can only be achieved through quality, inherent throughout the manufacture, restoration, tuning and service of each piece.

Barry and Roberta Caradine are piano experts. They live and breathe piano tuning, regulation, voicing, repair, and restoration, and are regularly called upon by some of the world’s best musicians, concert halls and recording studios.

With a solid technical background and deep-rooted understanding of the history of piano design, theirs is a total piano service based on passion, technical expertise and exceptional craftmanship.

Meet Barry…

Barry Caradine learned much of his craft at the Bösendorfer factory in Vienna. He has served the world’s greatest concert pianists, including the legendary Oscar Peterson, whilst serving as Bösendorfer’s Concert Technician.

Barry set up Caradine Piano Restoration with Roberta in 1996 where they work together on restoration projects. Barry’s expertise in all areas of piano work is unique and he continues to travel extensively from his Suffolk base servicing pianos throughout the UK and beyond.

Meet Roberta…

Like Barry, Roberta Caradine trained at the London College of Furniture, and much of her formative experience was gained working for Essex’s largest piano and music shop. She combines strong customer service qualities with technical acumen and exceptional casework finishing skills.

Roberta provides a specialised tuning service within a 35 mile radius of the workshop. When she is not tuning she can be found working in all areas of the workshop assisting Barry up to first regulation. As a clear recognition of her impressive background of piano tuning and servicing she was made the President of the Pianoforte Tuners’ Association in 1999.
